At The Table With Jesus
April 20, 2025
Today we are celebrating the greatest even that took place ever in the history of this earth!
There are 4 events that represent the Foundation of Christianity
The virgin birth of Jesus (supernatural birth by the Holy Spirit)
The Resurrection
The Rapture
The 2 nd coming
Because of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross, we as believers have the following:
We can rejoice, we can have peace in our heart and we have eternal life
Our sins are forgiven
Even though we go through trials in life, God is with us and will never leave us alone!
Many people go through life with no hope, joy, peace, – but Jesus is the answer!
The importance of the resurrection!
Mathew Ch. 28 The Resurrection
1 Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other
Mary went to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord
descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like
lightning, and his clothing white as snow. 4 And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like
dead men. 5 But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who
was crucified.
6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he [a] lay. 7 Then go quickly
and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee;
there you will see him. See, I have told you.”
8 So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 And
behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet
and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to
Galilee, and there they will see me.”
The Resurrection of Jesus shocked the Roman empire!
11 While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that
had taken place. 12 And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a
sufficient sum of money to the soldiers 13 and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and
stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14 And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will satisfy him
and keep you out of trouble.” 15 So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story
has been spread among the Jews to this day.
The Great Commission
16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And
when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to
them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in [b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with
you always, to the end of the age.”
The message of the Resurrection!
1) Jesus is alive
Mathew Ch. 28: 5-6
5 But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was
crucified.
6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he [a] lay. 7 Then go quickly
and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee;
there you will see him. See, I have told you
Note: **angel said “for he has risen just as He said” The angel says: Go and Tell!
What should we do with this message – go and tell others Jesus is alive (Your Testimony)
This world is filled with so much hurt, pain, lies , destruction , depression, guilt.
For the believer all this doesn’t matter, or should not matter why? – Jesus is alive!!!
2) Because He died and rose again, Our sins are forgiven and we have eternal life Through
Jesus!
Ephesians 1:7 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our
trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
3)Heaven is our home –
**John 14:1-3
“1 Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; [a] believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are
many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? [b] 3 And if I
go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you
may be also
Note: ***Heaven is our home, we will be there with Jesus!
4) Because Jesus is alive and rose again , we can face the future with confidence , assurance and
perfect peace
John 16:31-33 – I have overcome the world – Jesus speaking to disciples before death
31 Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? 32 Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come,
when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for
the Father is with me. 33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world
you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.””
The Table – Last Supper
Jesus ate with His disciples right the week of passion week, before his crucifixion
He broke bread with them and conversated with them.
Spiritually speaking – You can conversate with Jesus at the table every day – By Prayer and reading His Word
He waits for you at the table.
It does not matter how bad of a day you have had, you can conversate with HIM, He listens!
Christianity is not about religion – Its about relationship, having a relationship with Jesus!
Its about a relationship with Jesus – every single day of your life you can experience Jesus in your life! –
which means:
o Having God’s love in your life , family, everything revolving around you!
o Having Peace and Joy – no matter what you face in life
o A Future – meaning one day we will be with Him – no more pain sorrow(this life is temporary,
don’t focus to much on your problems, focus on Him).
Are you willing to open your heart and Dine with Him? – Look what Jesus says in
Revelation Ch.3:19-22
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at
the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with
that person, and they with me.
21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was
victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what
the Spirit says to the churches.”
