In the times that we are living in, mental health is one of the topics we don’t talk about enough. Whether you are a believer or not, there are a lot of people dealing with mental issues such as financial stress, marriage issues, relationship issues, parenting issues, children issues.
Surprisingly a lot of believers in churches all across the world, are dealing with such issues, but feel like they cannot vocalize what they are going through because they either feel ashamed, vulnerable, or maybe like they don’t have enough faith, but the reality is, God knows that we are human.
There are a lot of believers that feel they have to face these issues alone and internalize their emotions. This is one of the strategies the enemy/Satan uses against the believer to make them think they are alone. We have to remember our mind is the battlefield and this is where Satan attacks, the mind. But the Bible says to have the mind of Christ. What does that mean? It means when we focus and meditate on what Jesus accomplished on the cross,we can rely on His strength and not our own, and He will give us the strength and peace to overcome any situation. He will give us peace in our mind, as the scripture says, he is the piece that surpasses all understanding!
Jesus said in Mathew chapter 28 “I am with you to the very end of the age”, and in many of the Scriptures you will find God says it through His Word, He is with us and time after time He says “fear not”.
As a believer and as a Pastor, that is what I hang onto, trusting in God‘s word and his promise that we are never alone. I always encourage my congregation and people that I come across, if you’re going through something mentally, seek Godly advice.
Don’t be afraid to talk to somebody about the issues you’re going through. When I say seek godly advice I mean go to people that will pray and encourage you through God‘s Word, that is very important.
Let us remember Jesus‘s promise, that He is with us to the very end. He has overcome the world, which means we can overcome any problem, anxieties, issues that we face in life because Jesus has given us victory through our faith in Him!
Be Blessed
